Association of Thai Travel Agents’ member companies handled 843,396 international tourists at Suvarnabhumi Airport during the first three months of 2012 representing a slight increase of 1.89% from 827,752 visits during the same period last year.

In an effort to ease passenger traffic at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Deputy Transport Minister Chatchart Sitthipan said 4 auto-gates will be installed to process passengers’ passports, starting from April 11.

Suvarnabhumi Airport tops Halal Friendly Airports list

Suvarnabhumi Airport has been voted the best Halal-friendly airport among non OIC countries for 2012.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Airports of Thailand (AOT), and the Immigration Department (ID) are to join forces to ensure that visitors are smoothly processed through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, the country’s main tourist gateway, as part of the campaign to facilitate a post-floods recovery.

A range of measures have been approved to help arriving visitors with language problems, visa-on-arrival processing and faster clearance of queues. “Thailand Welcomes the World”, will run from January-August 2012, and is part of the TAT’s “Miracle Year of Amazing Thailand” tourism plan.

Nok Air to serve Nakhon Phanom route from Suvarnabhumi Airport
